@@Ohh_Is_That_Sooo... you need the extra sensors for things like speed, voltage and temperature. The app is still useful though for adjusting channel settings and trims as well as firmware updates. I find it quite useful even though I do not have any of the extra sensors. Since I have this in a crawler those add on features would barely be useable anyway so I don’t mind.

They are worth it especially if you enjoy tinkering with the tiny trucks. Multiple times a year I switch them to a different wheel and truck to change up the looks without spending any additional money.

I would look into a bead lock assembly tool to see if that helps. I don’t have any first hand experience with those specific wheels but something like this might help. First off unless you have the TRX4 that came with the large 2.2 wheels or the Traxxas lift kit my opinion is that 120mm are to long. I personally wouldn't go more than 100mm on the basic TRX4. As for oil, in a crawler using dessert lizard shocks just get a medium to lightweight oil. 25-35 weight oil is more than adequate. Oil tuning does very little in the way of measurable changes on a crawler truck. And the spring setup in the video is as good a place as any to start with.

@@TJsRC wheel size are 1.9 & and spring set up would be stiff springs ? If I recall I think you swapped out your soft springs for the stiff ones ?

@@valleymade9563 it depends on how heavy the truck is. You have to play around with it a little to figure out how you want it to sit and ride. Don't add the oil until you commit to trying a spring combo then drive it for a few batteries worth before making any changes.

on iPhone you either swipe up or hit the home button. On Android the back or home button should work.

I don't know about that as I don't have any experience with Holmes ESC. I know I like his motors. I think they might be compatible. If you already have the B-link I'd say try it. If you're wondering if you should buy it I would want more confirmation that it'll work before investing in it. You could email Holmes customer support or check the Holmes Hobbies Facebook groups to see if anyone has first hand experience with it.

The hobbywing programers only work with Hobbywing products. Hobbywing does make escs for some rc truck manufacturers. If the ESC says Hobbywing on it then probably it would work. I don't have any experience with MST products so I am unfamiliar with their electronics.

@@geryang450 It will only work with ESC models that have settings that can be adjusted. Not every Hobbywing ESC has adjustable settings. A lot of them do but to be sure just look at the instructions sheet that came with the ESC or look the ESC up on their website.

There are some things you can do to improve that. Use lighter weight oil. Change the valve to one with more holes. Use stronger spring on each side. These should help some. They are designed for slow rock crawling so fast reacting is not their strong suit.

Yeah I hear you. I was disappointed myself the first time I discovered you can’t actually use all the fancy features unless you add all the extra, sold separately sensors. It’s cool that the functionality is there. It’s just not attainable for the average RC user.

First be sure the controller has the Bluetooth adapter installed already. Traxxas sold many tQi controllers that are "Bluetooth compatible" meaning they are able to have the adapter added but didn't come with it. Second, if you previously has a controller connected you will need to go into your phone Bluetooth settings and tell it to forget the former device. Then start from the beginning. If you've done all that try connecting it to a different phone or tablet if you can to verify it's working.

I'm not sure what you mean by no high voltage detected. If you are referring to the instrument panel screen in the app, those functions require additional sensors that Traxxas sells separately. Sensors like battery voltage, motor rpm, motor temperature and speed all require separate sensors. I think I briefly mentioned this in the video because I don't use any of those functions for what I do.

You can adjust trim and sensitivity of the throttle channel. The Sensitivity setting acts similar to throttle ramping but to adjust true throttle ramp curves the ESC needs to be adjustable. This is not usually possible with the stock ESC. However if you have an after market one you would use that manufacturers software or programming tool to change the throttle ramp curves. I have Castle Creations ESC's in most of my rigs so I use Castle's smartphone app for those kinds of setting changes.

Once the settings are changed and loaded into the ESC you can power off and remove the B link.

Just to be sure. So the ESC remembers the settings and I do not need to connect the b link again on the same car for subsequent runs right?

@@shaunwee7658 Oncr you change a setting and it has been saved to the ESC it should stay until you change it again. You can easily test this to show it works by making a change to an easily observable setting (like setting max forward power to 25% or setting the drag brake to off or 100%) then save and remove the B link and see if that setting change stayed. That's only if you want to prove to yourself that the changes are sticking because you aren't sure.

You should be able to connect to more than one transmitter. However you can only connect the App to one BT module at a time. As far as I know the app never allowed you to have multiple BT modules connected at the same time.

@@TJsRC what i mean is that you cant conect difrent models like i have a jato and a slayer pro but cence the app dosent have the conect to reciver iccon nomore only alliws the jato to conect to the app cence the jato is what csme with that radio😳

@@eduardolopez4185 The app connects to the BT in the Transmitter so if that is connected it shouldn't care what RC car is paired with the transmitter. My app still has a "select model" button/icon. It's in the middle of the top row when the app opens. This just changes preset profiles in the app. It doesn't have any control whether the app connects to a particular RC or not. At the very top edge of the app in each corner there is an indicator light that let's you know if it is talking with the transmitter and receiver/vehicle. If the one I the top right is red and not green make sure the RC is powered on and connected to the Transmitter before opening the app and connecting it. If both those indicator lights are green then it's connected to both the tx and the Rx and you can make any adjustments you need. Ok after typing all that I went back and looked around in the app. There is a button labeled "connect" with a picture of a receiver for the icon. It's in the "Garage" tab but I don't know what it is for as I've never used it. If I had to guess I would suspect it might be for helping to pair a transmitter with a new reciever but again I'm not sure. Sorry for the long wordy reply.

Don't start trying to connect in your phone settings app. First make sure your phones BT on and the Transmitter is powered on. Now go into the app and use the "Traxxas Link Wireless Module" button to start the connection. Follow the directions in the prompts. If this still doesn't work message Traxxas customer service because there was a known issue with some of the modules not working with newer versions of Android. This was a couple years ago and I assume they would have addressed it but if the module you have is somehow an older manufactured one maybe it still has the issues. In that case they should be able to either fix it for you or replace it.

We tried to connect it to the iPhone (I didn't check what model, but I think it's fairly new) - unfortunately, the result was negative. The last option remains - I'll try it on the iPad - it's old enough for me, but... hope dies last. @@TJsRC

@@janisteteris6847 So the phones are seeing it as an BT device available but just won't complete the connection? I would still message Traxxas customer service then and see what they will do to help you out. You spent good money on this product, it shouldn't be this much headache to make it work.

@@TJsRC A negative result is also a result. The connection with the IPod tablet failed - unfortunately, the software is too old (version 10) and you can't install a newer one (you need to start from 11). However, there is also positive news - I managed to connect via iPhone (if I didn't confuse anything, then version 16.7) (Tomorrow I will try to find out what system version the phone we tried first had)

With the axle housing as level front to back as possible you will want the top of the C-hub to lean back slightly. So if you put one on and it's leaning towards the front, try it on the other side.

Open the App, there's a button in the upper right hand corner that is the Bluetooth pairing button. The ESC must be powered on first or it won't show up as an option to connect to.

It doesn't matter which Traxxas model RC you have. This only works with a Traxxas TQI transmitter and it needs the Bluetooth adapter slot on the back of it.

I don't have a trexxas I wish I had one🥺😭

Technically yes but if your TRX4 has lockers you have to be mindful of the locker cables, there isn’t much extra play with those stock cables when you start lifting. It’s very easy to overlook and be over extending the downwards flex of the suspension and have to much stress on that cable. This was at least the case on my TRX4 but I have one of the first ones. Maybe they’ve got longer ones now because Traxxas sell lift kits for them and you can even get them pre lifted with the 2.2 tires.

That I do not know. The only Hobbywing product I still have is the AXE system and that uses the Bluetooth Hobbywing App on my phone. You could go to the Hobbywing website and look for Downloads on their support page.
